START 2025 IN STYLE... CHELTENHAM'S NEW YEAR'S DAY RACEDAY
Regardless of how you celebrated New Year’s Eve, there is no better way to jump into 2025 than racing on New Year’s Day at Cheltenham. Thrilling and high-quality racing action, that is sure to provide Cheltenham Festival insight, fresh air, and amazing free family entertainment.
There are seven highly-competitive races on the day with Graded and Listed contests, the racing action will blow away those New Year’s Eve cobwebs. Can you afford to miss out on racing at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day?
It was a big day for King of the Jungle and Football Legend Harry Redknapp, as the Ben Pauling trained Shakem Up’arry landed the New Year’s Day Handicap Chase.
This provided a huge Cheltenham Festival clue as Shakem Up’arry went onto to score at the Festival, giving Harry Redknapp and jockey Ben Jones their first Cheltenham Festival winner.
The Grade 2 Dornan Engineering Relkeel Hurdle went the way of prolific Cheltenham winning trainer Henry de Bromhead and Robcour’s Bob Olinger with racing’s heroine Rachael Blackmore doing the steering.
The listed bumper was won by Kel Du Large, trained by West Country trainer Jane Williams and ridden by David Noonan. He followed up with another bumper win next time out and looks to have a very bright and exciting future ahead.
