Dear Market Rasen Annual Badge Holder,

   

As we approach the end of the Summer Season, I’d like to thank you for your continued support towards our beautiful small course, and I hope you have enjoyed this year’s racing and themed days so far.

 

We were thrilled to host another Community Race Day in July where we welcomed many local businesses, schools, services, and sports teams to showcase what they can do. There was something for all the family and it was great to see so many taking part in the activities on offer.

 

Unibet Summer Plate Ladies Day as always brought the glam to Lincolnshire, despite the weather! We watched Harry Cobden snatch a thrilling last-to-first victory on Born Famous in the Unibet Summer Plate Handicap Chase on what was a spectacular day of racing.

 

This summer also saw the much-anticipated return of Live Music back to Market Rasen for the first time in four years, with Brit Award Winning Tom Grennan taking to the stage on what was a glorious August evening in front of our largest crowd since 2018.

 

As we head into autumn, we hope you are looking forward to the Ferry Ales Prelude & Beer Festival on Saturday 30^th September, featuring over 20 real ales, lagers, and ciders. This fixture is also an exciting introduction to the 2023/2024 National Hunt Season, giving you an idea of horses to follow during the season ahead.

  

The free days out 2023 fixture list still has 16 days of racing remaining. Please do get in touch and let us know where you have visited and your race day experience, good or bad. The tipster competition is going well and it’s great to see so many badge holders getting involved. With six race meetings remaining, the scores are close, and all is to play for! The winner will be announced after Boxing Day.

 

The current leaders are:

Our Charity of The Year for 2023/2024 is the Gardiner Hill Foundation. The Gardiner Hill Foundation was set up to enhance and enrich the lives of people with mental health problems. To raise funds for the charity, a team from the Racecourse have organised a ‘Course to Cathedral’ sponsored walk! On Friday 22^nd September, we will depart the Racecourse and make our way to Lincoln Cathedral covering 17 miles of scenic countryside. All donations go to Gardiner Hill, and we would appreciate anything you can give to help us hit our target.
