Known as the greatest flat race in the world, The Betfred Derby. This is the one that sired all the others, the crown jewel of racing – at The Derby Festival. This is the birthplace of thoroughbred sprinting. One chance for three-year-olds to make history. And for returning greats to be even greater. 240 years, 240 different winners, this is where future champions are made.
The Betfred Derby is the race that every jockey, trainer and owner wants to win. The race is run over a distance of 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 10 yards over an undulating course climbing the equivalent height of Nelson's Column.
